Fintech Research Group

The Fintech Research Group works on fintech research and teaching. Its members are Yongmiao Hong, Shouyang Wang, Jiajing Sun, Youwei Yang and Xiaoan Ma.

Its outputs include the FinTech Index for Small and Medium-Sized Banks (released in 2024), the textbook Financial Technology, and its page-by-page slides (1,746 pages, also in English) and fourteen-chapter video course.

Drawing mainly on bank annual reports, together with public information on organisational structure, board and senior management backgrounds, patents, software copyrights and violation records, the index assesses the fintech competitiveness of small and medium-sized banks and groups the results into tiers by bank type.
